(Cardiff, October 5 – 2011) Sleeperz Hotels, the innovative budget hotel business, is set to open its second UK hotel in Newcastle in December.
The 98-bedroom, six storey hotel is situated on Westgate Road near Newcastle’s Central Station and will be the city’s first ever design-led budget hotel.
The construction of Sleeperz Newcastle signals the creation of a new niche in the hotel scene for leisure and business travellers visiting North East England.

Sleeperz Newcastle will offer quality, stylish compact rooms with fresh, colourful and contemporary interiors at room rates from £60, including free wi-fi access.

According to the latest figures from destination marketing agency NewcastleGateshead Initiative and national tourist board Visit England, Newcastle’s hotel sector is among the highest performing of any UK city.
Average room occupancy for hotels in Newcastle is 78 per cent compared to a national average of 65 per cent according to Visit England.
Sleeperz Newcastle will also create 25 full time jobs in the local economy.

The development, on the site of the former Parcel Works in the heart of Newcastle, follows around £7m of investment in the Sleeperz brand and the opening of its first UK hotel in Cardiff in November 2008.

The company has plans to expand and Sleeperz has earmarked major UK cities, including Liverpool, Manchester and London as potential venues for hotels in the next phase of development.
